WEEK 12

Dear Our Time Parent:

I’m sure you noticed in today’s class the focus on the concepts of loud and quiet. For the next few weeks, many of our classroom activities will offer the opportunity for your child to hear, create and experience loud sounds and quiet sounds. Continue exploration of these concepts at home by playing a door knocking and doorbell ringing game. Also invite your child to discover ways to make loud sounds and quiet sounds with objects you have around the house. Games such as these may help develop listening skills as well as allow the opportunity for your child to use his/her cognitive skills to explore and discover.

Next week, we will explore a variety of wood instruments in class. At that time, you will have the chance to talk with your child about the similarities and differences between the look, feel and sound of various instruments. Until then…
