Wiggles & Giggles/Week 9

Dear Our Time Parent:

Children are often fascinated by the contrast between sound and silence. And music, of course, consists of both sound and silence.

Wasn’t it fun watching the children’s reactions today as we trotted around the room to the woodblock’s sound and silence cues!

The toddler is typically captivated by such an activity. His attention is focused on the sound, movement, and stopping. The silence allows him to wait, listen, and anticipate what will come next. Create your own sound and silence games at home with singing, homemade instrument play, or body percussion (tapping, clapping, clicking, etc.).

See you next week!
