KINDERMUSIK FOR THE
YOUNG CHILD, SEMESTER 4
Week 1 (Lesson 46)
Dear Young Child 4 Parent:
Welcome to Kindermusik for the Young Child, Semester 4. As we continue with Young Child 4, your child will be taking Lessons 46-60, building upon many of the concepts already explored. Today’s class included some review of these concepts, especially focusing on rhythmic patterns and rhythmic notation.
This semester we will also experience music of several cultures and composers, telling stories with instruments, ensemble playing, musical forms, and playing the new instrument, the recorder.
At home this week, help your child review the proper way to hold and play the recorder. Remember to practice speaking the “too” sound before actually playing into the mouthpiece! And read Music at Home 46 for more ideas on how to begin with the recorder.
See you next week!
